CampOUT is accepting applications for Mentors!

CampOUT is now accepting applications for Mentors! CampOUT is a social and educational retreat for LGBTQA youth, held near Lovell, Maine.  It is a space designed for young people to connect, learn, and share ideas. CampOUT empowers youth to explore issues of social justice and develop strong community. Applications are due Friday, May 11, 2013.

Each session’s six Mentors are essential to CampOUT. We are seeking 2 volunteers who are energetic, engaging, and positive role models for Queer/LGBTQA young people. Mentors must have experience working with youth, appropriate boundaries, and passion for social justice issues.

In an effort to provide a comprehensive team of Mentors in both skill sets and identities, CampOUT is currently seeking applicants who identify as trans*women, people of color, and/or who hold a BSW or MSW.

Before applying, we highly suggest reviewing CampOUT’s website:

It’s my belief that ushering in the next generation of sexuality professionals is of great importance. I believe that this type of information is best shared by current sexuality professionals, organizations, ‘sex nerds’ and anyone who has reliable & legitimate information and that those people should have a platform to share it with others.
